My #BookReview of #SnowFall by #JornLierHorst @LierHorst published by @MichaelJBooks #WilliamWisting

Detective William Wisting returns for another spine-tingling mystery. . .

When the body of an Australian backpacker is found in Spain, an online group of amateur true crime sleuths springs up around the world, attempting to solve the mystery of her death.

Foremost on the message boards is Astri, a young Norwegian woman whose feverish pursuit takes her closer than anyone else to solving the case.

But just as she prepares to publicly unravel the mystery, she goes offline.

No one in the group has heard from her since.

When William Wisting is sent to investigate, he is plunged deep into a fascinating world of unorthodox investigators, whose connections are as vague and varied as their abilities. But in a dangerous case where nothing is as it seems, these online detectives may be the best hope he has for solving the mystery – before another victim falls . . .

My review…..

For those that follow me,you know I’m a huge fan of William Wisting and Jorn Lier Horst is one of my favourite authors, with that in mind I couldn’t wait to read Snow Fall.

Firstly let me say a huge thank you to Penguin Micheal Joseph who seem to be publishing the Wisting books each year, and the excellent work of Anne Bruce of translating these novels.

Having read all the previous Wisting books and enjoyed them all, this is one of my favourites. the plotline is easy to follow and involves Wisting getting involved with a group of online true crime sleuths as a dead body turns up in Norway that is linked to another case in Spain.

The ease at which the story unfolds and the cast of supporting chrachters is truely exceptional, I loved the inclusion of a group of true crime fanatics who from all over the world want to help solve a crime, being a huge true crime fan myself, this really resonated with me.

The plot also includes Line and Amalie, Wisting daughter and Granddaughter and I love that this part of his life is shared with the reader, and Line is such a fabulous character!

I didn’t guess the outcome until it was revealed in the novel, and I was totally engrossed all the way through ( as always )… if I could read a new Wisting book each month I’d be so happy, ever wanted to unrea something and start again?

So as always, Jorn Lier Horst remains a master at his genre of Nordic Crime Fiction and Snow Fall deserves a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ star rating.
